Celebrating the Spirit of Kartini at Papillon Preschool
Papillon Preschool celebrated Hari Kartini with traditional activities, klepon-making, and a fashion show, inspiring children with Kartini's values of courage, curiosity, empathy, and confidence.

Today, April 25, 2025, Papillon Preschool came alive with colors, culture, and joy as we celebrated Hari Kartini, honoring one of Indonesia’s most inspiring national heroines. The event was made even more special with the support of HDI Magelang, and we’re so grateful for their involvement in making this celebration meaningful and fun for our children.
Our students and teachers proudly wore pakaian adat from various regions across Indonesia, creating a beautiful tapestry of unity in diversity. The children joyfully participated in traditional games, made klepon together, and even took part in a cheerful mini fashion show to showcase their traditional outfits.
Beyond the festivities, this day was about remembering and reflecting on the spirit of R.A. Kartini—a woman who fought for education, equality, and the empowerment of Indonesian women. Her legacy reminds us of the importance of nurturing these values from an early age.
We hope today’s celebration inspires our children to embody some of Kartini’s most admirable qualities:
Courage, to stand up for what is right.
Curiosity, to keep learning and asking questions.
Empathy, to care for others and build an inclusive community.
Confidence, to express themselves and believe in their abilities.
By learning about Kartini, we encourage our young learners to grow into thoughtful, brave, and compassionate individuals—just like the woman who sparked change with her words and her heart.
